brothers and sisters of Teamsters Local 439. I’m speaking to you today to prepare you for a potential labor dispute between UPS and the Teamsters. We are committed to fighting to ensure we get a fair and equitable contract.

The good news is that we have strength in numbers and unity; if UPS wants to play hardball, we are ready to engage.

First and foremost, we must remember that whatever happens at the bargaining table reflects on the entire Teamsters Local 439. As a unified body, we have a vested interest in seeing that everyone is treated with respect. That means that when the time comes to negotiate our union members must stick together and leverage our collective leverage for productive conversations with UPS negotiators.

In order for us to be successful, it’s important for each of you to stay informed about the process and the associated negotiations. We’ll be providing regular updates through our union newsletter, website, and our social media channels. It’s also important to remember that we hold collective power—and that when you mess with one Teamster, you mess with us all.

If we do this together, we can achieve a fair contract for everyone in Local 439. We are prepared to fight for it if necessary, so I thank all of you for your solidarity and commitment. Thank you.

Hello everyone,

We’d like to thank you all for coming out yesterday for our Teamsters Local 439 contract rally, in preparation for the 2023 UPS contract negotiations. It’s was a 24-hour journey

The purpose of yesterdays rally is to educate our members and show our support for a successful upcoming negotiation with UPS. We recognize that this negotiation is a pivotal moment in our union’s history and we must stand together to get the best possible contract. We understand the importance of having an informed membership, so we’ve done everything we can to make sure you are all up to date on the process.

We’d like to give a special thank you to members from other barns and organizations, such as Leprino Foods, who have shown their support and solidarity today. The power of solidarity cannot be understated and we’re honored to have all of you join us in this fight!

It is imperative that our members stay informed and active throughout the negotiation process. That being said, we encourage everyone to continue the conversation beyond yesterday’s rally. Your voices are important and need to be heard! In the coming months there will be more events, communications and opportunities for you to stay involved and make a difference.

Greetings, everyone. On this beautiful Mother’s Day, Teamsters Local 439 would like to take a moment to recognize and honor all the amazing mothers in our lives.

Our mothers are role models, teachers, and supporters for us all. They have been there with advice and guidance and have believed in us since day one. Without them, many of us wouldn’t have achieved the success in life that we have.

On this day dedicated to celebrating our mothers, we want to thank them for all that they do. We recognize how hard they work and the sacrifices they make for us. The dedication of mothers around the world is truly remarkable.

From working long hours, to putting their own needs second and always being there when we need them— our mothers are a constant source of comfort, strength and unconditional love.

Local 439 has successfully negotiated a 100 percen

Local 439 has successfully negotiated a 100 percent contract ratification for our teamsters brothers and sisters Downriver. This is a significant milestone for the union and it shows our commitment to our members.

The negotiations have been tough but we have stayed true to our mission of advocating for a fair and equitable contract. We are committed to ensuring our brothers and sisters Downriver get the pay and benefits they deserve.

This is yet another victory ahead in the fight for workers rights. And it is also a testament to the skill and passion of our business agents and Local 439 negotiators, who have worked tirelessly to serve our members and secure this victory.

Today, we are pleased to announce that Teamster brothers and sisters at Waste Management ratified their contract, with an overwhelming 99% approval! This is a huge win for the waste management 439 Teamsters,and we’d like to give special thanks to the stewards at Waste Management who worked hard to make this happen.

Lead negotiator Rick Buzo, Business Agent Alex Carrillo and Secretary Treasurer Sal Lomeli worked tirelessly and their efforts paid off with the best contract in Waste Management’s history. We commend their commitment to their union and their fellow workers.

Our union is stronger when we stand united; let’s continue to demonstrate that strength in everything we do.

It is through our collective power that we can make a difference. We will continue to negotiate better working conditions and wages so we can build a better future for the members and their families.

We’re here today to thank the Teamsters brothers and sisters of Local 439 for coming out in force to the Tank Davis vs Ryan Garcia boxing event on Saturday. It was a great success and showed that the 439 members are stronger together.

We’d like to extend our appreciation to all the members who attended and took part in the evening’s festivities. It was a memorable night that showcased a great unity within the Local 439.

The turnout was amazing, with Teamsters Local 439 members taking up nearly every seat in the venue. It was also great to see many of them coming out early in anticipation of the fight, and enjoying the pre-fight entertainment.

As always, Teamsters Local 439 continues to demonstrate their solidarity and commitment to working people. We can’t thank them enough for coming out to show their support and making the Tank Davis vs Ryan Garcia fight an unforgettable experience.

Once again, we’d like to thank all the members of Teamsters Local 439 who attended the boxing match. Your presence was a clear demonstration of your commitment to the values of collaboration and unity, and it was truly an amazing event for everyone involved.

Trinette Grant is a proud Teamster with Local 439. On behalf of the 439 members, Trinette went to the state capital to speak on Assembly Bill 316.

The proposed legislation seeks to create a pilot program in San Francisco to provide services to unrepresented workers who, in many cases, face tremendous challenges in their workplace. As a union member, I am a firm advocate of protecting workers’ rights, especially those of immigrants and of women who are still striving for full gender equity in the workforce.

AB 316 provides necessary protections for workers in areas where unions are not currently represented. This bill would create a new program that would be able to quickly respond to worker issues and concerns. Furthermore, it would equip workers with the resources needed to file complaints and dispute resolution proceedings without fear of retribution.

The strength of this bill lies in its ability to empower unrepresented workers through education. It means providing them with the resources and knowledge necessary to advocate for fair wages and working conditions. This type of protection is immensely important, especially in industries like trucking, where women and immigrants are often taken advantage of due to a lack of awareness and understanding of labor laws.

Teamsters Local 439 is passionately committed to the passage of AB 316, and we are prepared to offer our expertise and resources to support the pilot program. We believe that this bill would go a long way towards creating and promoting a safe work environment for employees throughout California, and it would have a positive impact on the businesses we represent.

It’s time to talk about our latest progress in the negotiations with the Downriver company.

We’ve been in talks for a few weeks now, but it looks like the company is not willing to make a deal. In response to their last best and final offer, the Downriver Local 439 Teamsters have rejected it with a 100% vote! This is an incredible show of solidarity and it’s a testament to how strong we are when we stick together.

This rejection sends a message that we will not accept anything less than what we deserve. We understand there are difficult economic situations that have to be taken into account, but we also know what we are worth. This is why it is important to make sure that we, as union members and our families, are treated fairly and get the best terms possible.

The company has requested that our business agent DeeKay Lee goes back to the table this week to continue negotiations. However, the Local 439 membership needs to understand that the company has not negotiated in good faith and that, should the situation remain unchanged, we urge the members to vote the contract down and take a strike vote if the company continues to play games.

It’s essential that we all stay informed and remain united during these difficult times. Here at the union we’re working hard to secure the best terms for us, so please stay tuned for updates on the progress of negotiations.

Good evening, I am Sal Lomeli the Principal Officer at Local 439. It is my pleasure to take the time to recognize and commend the Sysco Teamsters across the nation and their Union Leadership for the successful strike action that just recently ended.

The powerful stance taken by these union members and their leadership demonstrate the strength and solidarity of the labor movement. In two short weeks, a collective agreement was reached and the teamsters secured what they rightly deserved.

Local 439 stands proudly with all of our brothers and sisters in solidarity during this difficult time, in which we are faced with a global pandemic, economic crisis, and social unrest. We believe that all members of the labor movement have the right to fair wages, working conditions, and respect. That is why Local 439 is strongly committed to advocating for social justice and economic equity.

Local 439 is and will always be in your corner, fighting for our common cause of justice. As Teamsters, we stand together for progress, for equity, for fairness, and for respect. We will never stop striving for our goal of economic security and prosperity for all workers.

Local 439 Leadership walked the Safeway Distribution Center in Tracy, California, where Teamsters Local 439 proudly represents 1900 strong members.We went to speak to the workers about their contract that was negotiated .

For those of you who may not be aware, the contract that was finalized is considered the best in the nation and the best contract that was ever negotiated since 1992 when the Tracy Distribution center 1st open the doors in Tracy ca.Not only is this great news for current members of Teamsters Local 439, but it also raises the bar for any future contracts that are negotiated.

You should all feel proud of the work and determination you showed during the negotiation process. Your voices were heard and taken into consideration, leading to a positive outcome for all. Today, we are here to shake hands and give thanks to everyone who was involved in making such a great contract come to fruition.

I want to say a big thank you to all the workers at this distribution center for your dedication and commitment during this process and for always standing strong with our union. Together we have achieved something that will benefit all Teamsters into the future, and we should be extremely proud of that.
