Armando has been a Teamster for over 30 years working at numerous Union facilities prior to joining Local 439 staff in 2002. In January of 2009, Mr. Alonzo was elected to serve as President of Local 439.

Armando currently represents the UPS, UPS Freight, Quality Manpower, Sugar Transport, Rail Terminal and ABF members. He served as representative of Safeway Produce, Meat and Frozen dept from 2004 thru 2009, represented Yellow Transportation, Roadway Express from 2002 thru 2009

He has been on numerous negotiating committees: 2008 National Master Freight and Western Supplemental negotiating committee, 2008 Safeway negotiating committee, 2003 & 2006 & 2009 Rail Terminal negotiations, 2003 & 2006 Moore Truck Line negotiations, 2003 Cal Sierra Disposal negotiations, 2003 Quality Manpower-Sugar Transport-Al Scanavino negotiations, 2003 Sierra Chemical negotiations,
